What Is Chronic Inflammation? What are infections that can trigger it?

What Is Chronic Inflammation?

Chronic inflammation is a condition in which the body is constantly fighting off an infection, without being able to completely destroy or eliminate it. In some cases, chronic inflammation can result in serious health problems. Inflammation can occur at the joints and in the skin. Some types of inflammatory diseases include rheumatoid arthritis, septic arthritis, osteoarthritis, reactive arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and Juvenile Diabetes. With this definition, it can get complicated quickly.

Types of chronic inflammation?

There are actually two types of chronic inflammation: acute and sub-acute. Those who know more about these conditions probably know what the difference is. For those of us who aren’t as familiar, here’s what says Dr. Shmerling: Acute inflammation refers to the swelling, redness, heat, and pain that come with an infection. This type of inflammation is usually associated with trauma such as falls and breaks. Most often, it is the white blood cells and other immune cells that help the body fight the infection. The definition of chronic inflammation says Dr. Shmerling: “Chronic inflammation is also called chronic lymphocytic disease, autoimmune disease, or major histocompatibility disease.” These are just some of the titles used for describing it.

The immune system fights off infection by causing white blood cells to go into overdrive and kill off the infected cells. What happens in chronic inflammation is that the white blood cells to keep on going after the infection has been cleared away. They continue to go after the body’s own healthy cells. This means that chronic inflammation can be a dangerous thing, because the damage can be in microscopic areas, so internal damage can be done.

How do we get inflammation?

Dr. Shmerling explains: “Acute inflammation…is not associated with any discharge…(and) can be quiet. This means that even though you might have some minor symptoms, you might never experience any symptoms that would indicate that you have chronic inflammation. That’s why it’s important to be aware that chronic inflammation can be dangerous.”

So, what causes it? There are many reasons for why it happens, but most likely it is because of trauma, infection, chemical toxins, immune disorders, environmental triggers, auto-immune diseases, free radical damage, environmental sensitivities, excessive lactic acid, hypoglycemia, insulin resistance, fatty liver disease, hyperglycemia, pregnancy, smoking, puberty, hormones, and too much estrogen.

Can we treat this disease?

Some people don’t respond well to typical anti-inflammatory treatments, such as ibuprofen, naproxen

As a result, they turn to natural, alternative remedies such as Herbs like turmeric and black pepper (that ease the pain and reduce swelling), Vitamin C and E , Chiropractic care or physical therapy. Alternative supplement like omega-3 fish oil, full spectrum CBD oil, and like.

Chronic inflammation can lead to not only pain and suffering but can also be responsible for cancer and other serious medical issues as well. Therefore, make sure you take a close look at all of the possibilities. If you’ve got chronic inflammation, get the treatment that works best for you. As you can see, there are many potential causes
